Common Questions

How long does a session last?

At least an hour; usually somewhere between one and two hours.

My baby’s growing fast! How long till I can schedule a session?

Most of my weekends are already booked for weddings, so I typically only shoot on weekdays. Many couples contact me before their children are born to make sure I’m available within the first couple months. I’d certainly suggest that route if you’re considering the First Year package. Otherwise, I’ll be happy to schedule you for my first available day.

Do you take toddler photographs as well?

If you have a newborn and an older child, I’ll be happy to create some photos of the two of them. But otherwise, I prefer to photograph only newborns. Once they start walking, I can’t keep up. I’ll be happy to refer you to another reputable photographer if you’d like.

Do you travel?

Yes! Travel within 100 miles of Virginia Beach is complementary. Greater distances incur additional fees. That said, if you’re able to grab another mom (or two!) to arrange more than one newborn sitting within the same trip, then it’ll be my pleasure to waive the travel fee for everyone.

Do I need to clean my house before you come over?

Oh, gosh no! You’re a new mom – you get a free pass for everything, remember? I take intimate, close-up portraits that rarely show anything except your baby. Additionally, I use very shallow depths of field, which makes everything in the background blur beyond recognition anyway. Please don’t let clutter hold you back.
